United in Diversity

I can't understand all the fuss over Turkey's accession to the EU. It's about time that some of the people involved in the EU project remembered that the motto of the EU is 'United in Diversity'.

Yet as soon as a country that would introduce real diversity to the EU wants to join everyone is suddenly horrified.

There's a good reason for this hypocrisy, and that reason is that nobody actually believed the motto in the first place. The root of the word 'diversity' is 'divide', and we all know that you cannot be united in division.

The UK should do the honourable thing and give up its place in the EU for Turkey, and leave the French and German Marxists to make up a new motto for the EU. I suggest 'Whipping up Islamophobia Through Forced Multiculturalism'. It will be a fitting epitaph.

A union that is not based on integration cannot survive.

I Agree. I can't put it any more simply than that. I absolutely agree.

Nor can the EU succeed when

Nor can the EU succeed when it so blatantly contravenes the wishes of its people.

They do it because they believe they can get away with it and, by our inaction, we show them that they're right.

If only Europe could see the

I fully agree with the idea of swapping places with Turkey.

The objection to Turkey is that it won't vote for Christmas.
