England wants Scottish Independence

The News of the World reports an ICM poll in which 56% of English people support Scottish independence

So, do 56% of Englanders really want the Scots to end the union and consign the United Kingdom - Great Britain - to history? For that is what Scottish independence means. Somehow I doubt it. But according to Alex Salmond it's not all that apocalyptic because a Scotland that voted for independence could later re-join the United Kingdom if it didn't work out.

Ha ha, do me a favour. Not so Alex, you know full well that it doesn't work like that. A vote for Scottish independence is a vote to end the United Kingdom, so there would be no UK to re-join, and even if the Scots wanted re-union with the now independent England I seriously doubt that the feeling would be mutual.
