Dust Up in Hampshire

Do you remember the hostilities between the English Democrats and Matt O'Connor? Well, according to a contributor to the British Democracy Forum things have escalated:

We can confirm that Steve Uncles was arrested this Monday at a Hampshire Police station for harassment of Mr O'Connor's family. We also understand Robin Tilbrook is also going to be interviewed in relation to the same charges. We will be making a formal statement when we have all the information.

Obviously the word 'allegedly' should be used here, somewhere, because you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet. It might be that Matt's new party "Endeavor" is engaging in a bit of publicity seeking. If not then it's bad news for English Democrats because according to the Electoral Commission Uncles and Tilbrook have bankrolled the party to the tune of £17,000 and £54,000 respectively.

Upon hearing of O'Connor's intention to resign as the EDP's London mayoral candidate Steve Uncles commented "The only way he can actually resign is if he dies".

The Wisdom of Uncles

The wisdom of English Democrat, Steve Uncles (I had a good chuckle at this press releases and follow up comment).

Isn't this getting a little

Isn't this getting a little out of hand?!

Just a touch.

Just a touch.

I think that depends on

I think that depends on whether you are getting the hate mail. Wasn't a prospective Tory recently arrested and charged for something similar directed at Lib Dems? Why should someone put up with being compared to a Nazi and have have threats sent to them just because they worked for someone. This sort of behaviour does nothing to encourage new people to get involved in politics.

It appears that the English

It appears that the English democrats are once again being economical with the truth when it comes to Steve Uncles. A press release on the democracy Forum about the recent steve Uncles arrest would have you believe that he was innocent. The 2hings that the Ed press release failed to mention - 1 that the complaint to police was not about solicitors letter but about emails from Uncles to O'Connor girlfriend telling her she was a Nazi and 2 - that Steve Uncles has been officially served with a formal harrasment warning from police in relation to this matter. This hardly make Uncles innocent and I would say one should be questioning his and Tillbrooks racist views and their suitability to politics more to the point.

Do Uncles and Tilbrook have

Do Uncles and Tilbrook have racist views? Clearly they have displayed very poor judgement, but I'd hesitate to say that their association with racist parties equates to them having racists views.

However, I don't know them so maybe you're right.
