Dementia rife at Conservative HQ

Dementia has got so bad at Conservative Party HQ that yet again (despite relentless badgering from me) they've forgotten to say which territory they are referring to on their website. This time the culprit is Shadow Health Minister Stephen O’Brien.

Tory Dementia

The new figures that Stephen refers to show a drop in the number of care homes able to care for people with dementia in England. And the overall number of care home places has dropped by over 10,000 in the same period in England.

Quite rightly Mr O'Brien is annoyed at this:

"Gordon Brown needs urgently to wake up to the scale of the generational time-bomb we are facing, and begin to take the welfare of the elderly in our society seriously. It is frankly scandalous that after more than a decade in power Labour have completely failed in their pledge to end the practice of people having to sell their homes to fund long-term care.” - Telegraph.

Unfortunately the poor little scrote has forgotten to tell his English constituents that in Scotland, where Gordon Brown lives, long-term personal and nursing care has been free to everyone for several years. What an oversight.

If you would like to help demented individuals like Stephen O’Brien live productive fruitful lives on the Shadow Front Bench, then please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Society (for England, Wales and Northern Ireland) this Christmas.

You will also be helping Mike Penning and Michael Gove. Together we can get the Tories to remember to say England.

98% of the current crop of Conservative MPs were elected to Parliament by English constituencies.
